1. Learning from a mistake
No one forecasted that Inter Milan could beat Barcelona in UEFA champions league semifinal 2009/2010. Barcelona with Messi, Xavi, and new striker Zlatan brahimovic considered as the best team in the world by most of people, any team hoped to avoid them, so did Inter Milan. In preliminary round Inter Milan could resist Bacelona palyed draw 0-0 in Giuseppe Meazza, But in the second leg in camp nou, they had to recognized Barcelona superiority 2-0.
Unfortunately they met again in semifinal round. Apparently Inter Milan learned a lot from a mistake in the past, with a spartan spirit they beat Barcelona 3-1 in first leg. Barcelona had to win minimum 2-0 so that they could pass in the next stage. Inter Milan used totally defensive strategy to face Barcelona. That’s work, Barcelona just won 1-0 and they eliminated from champions league.
So don’t hesitate to try something new, something that we don’t know anything about it, coz we can learn much more from a mistake.
2. Never Give-up
Recently I saw amazing match tittled “north London derby” between arsenal vs tottenham. In first half arsenal already lead by 2-0. Commentator (Mr. Ronny Pangemanan) said that tottenham played terrible, and they needed fundamentally changed in second half. The changed appear when gareth bale scored in fabianski goal. That is a momentum which made tottenham rise up. Several minutes later refael vander vaart scored with penalty kick, and then few minutes before end youness kaboul scored to reverse the end result became 3-2.
Many more match which inspiring us to don’t give up for every difficult situation. For another example is UEFA champions league final between Liverpool vs Ac Milan. Ac Milan which leaded 3-0 in first half surprisingly equated 3-3 in second half by Liverpool, during extra time, score still equally strong and Liverpool won a trophy by penalty kick. That’s not a miracle but a strongly effort.
3. Don’t Satisfy with something you achieve
“Los Galaticos project”, that’s the name was given by florentino perez when he collected many best player in the world into one team, Real Madrid. With squad like iker cassilas, Roberto carlos, luis figo, zinedine zidane, ronaldo, they seems couldn’t be blocked to get a trophy. And that is true, they won la liga title on 2001, 2003 and also won champions league trophy on 2001. After that real Madrid performance continues to decline and happened head coach changing oftentimes. That situation isn’t happened because the head coach couldn’t make a good strategy but many football analyst said that Real Madrid player had no motivation to win a title many more. They just played and earned.
That story tell us, how to keep high motivation although we are already have an achievement. Don’t be satisfied rapidly and keeping struggle to achieve a new record. “Be the first in all things because people won’t remember the second and so on.”
4. Knowing what do you need actually
4 years continued, since 2006, inter Milan won a “scudetto” trophy, therefore the main target in 2010 was winning champions league trophy. In serie A, inter Milan seems untouchable. In that time, Zlatan ibrahimovich became the most frightening striker in serie A even in europe. Unfortunately in summer transfer market 2009/2010 inter Milan have to lost him, because he leaved intermilan to join Barcelona. Jose mourinho as an intermilan head coach not worried with that situation because they already had a successor, he is Samuel eto’o. Beside that mourinho felt, missing him wasn’t big obstruction to get champions league trophy, because all they need is a playmaker actually. Then they bought Wesley Sneijder from real Madrid and what happened, Intermilan won a champions league trophy first time since 1965.
Sometimes we are confuse about what we need to reach my goal actually. So let’s try to think and find it. Don’t hope the different result by the same way.
